I love love love Dr Horrible’s Sing-along Blog with a passion and now this brilliant imagining as a Nintendo game is making me ache for a game that never was.

This is one of the reasons the Web is such an amazing force in our lives. Back in the day, this never would have existed or could have. Now Dr Octoroc (Levi Buffum) can make these beautiful things and share them with the world. Check out Dr Horrible if YouTube take down the video.

I don’t have any quarrel with the film but the other day I was in a bookshop and saw that they had adapted a BOOK from the SCRIPT of this film.

Film to book adaptations -- no worries.

Film to book adaptations when the original book is brilliant and/or a classic?

I was so angry I kind of threw the book back on the shelf and got glared at by the bookshop owner.

I love Astro Boy. Built as a replacement for a scientist’s dead son, he was abandoned when the scientist realised he could not ever truly replace his son. Astro was then rescued by a kindly researcher who made him into the hero we know today.

Where the Wild Things are movie trailer

I read some early review which did not say nice things and so I stopped reading reviews about it. Holding up at 71% right now on Rotten Tomatoes though, so I’m hoping I perhaps read a bad review … rather than an accurate review of a bad movie. I’ve been waiting so long to see this that if it is terrible it just might kill me.

Adapted from the best-selling Where the Wild Things Are book, it has a lot to live up to (and it’s been a long time coming – the book was published in 1963).
